About Us

The Condominiums at University Village is a community of active residents who are primarily 55 years of age or older. Condo owners participate in its governance by volunteering to work on committees and by serving on the Board of Directors. We determine policy and hire licensed professional management staff to implement and run day to day operations.

We are a community of individual condo owners all of whom have a share in the entire building complex and grounds. Monthly assessments cover each owner’s pro-rata share of the maintenance and upkeep and a basic dining charge. Included are most utilities (heat, air-conditioning, electricity, water and sewer, trash, and basic cable TV), use of all facilities, amenities and all concerts, lecture series and other events.

The traditional brick façade covers a reinforced concrete and steel building that contains 94 private condos equipped with overhead sprinklers and smoke alarms. All condos have a full kitchen and a laundry room with washer and dryer hook-ups. While condominium sizes vary from 900 to 2,600 square feet, most have two bedrooms, 2 baths, some with a den or separate dining room and balconies. All condominiums have a private covered or garage parking space and a storage closet.

This secure complex consists of two Phases and the dining and fitness center. Phase I contains 46 condominium units and various central facilities including the lobby, meeting rooms, library, guest rooms, administrative offices, and artist studio. Phase II includes 48 additional condominium units. The dining and fitness center has two levels. The upper floor includes the main dining room, casual dining room and the private dining room along with an outdoor terrace area. Five nights weekly, condo owners and residents enjoy village dining provided by Apron Hospitality Group membership.  On the lower level are the heated swimming pool, hot tub, fitness center, locker rooms, and lower outdoor terrace.

Glass atriums are located on each floor and offer breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, rolling farmland, the city skyline. These spacious rooms are used for private parties, bridge and other games, as well as informal gatherings.

Every aspect of life at University Village is designed to enhance and support an active lifestyle. We are not an independent or assisted living facility and there are no health care facilities or personnel on site.
