University Village is a condominium community primarily for Residents who are 55 years of age or older. Residents of University Village are owners of condominium units in the building and participate in its governance. The community promotes an active lifestyle for its residents and provides services, including: maintenance, and chauffeur services upon request; as well as numerous amenities that include an indoor swimming pool, exercise rooms, dining services, library, game room, art and craft studio, and hair salon.
University Village consists of two Phases; Phase I contains 46 condominium units and various central facilities including the Lobby, Meeting Room, Library, Guest Rooms, administrative offices, and other common areas. Phase II, which includes 48 additional condominium units and the Village Club, was added later.
The Village Club has two levels. The upper floor includes the Main or Formal Dining Room; the Terrace area, which includes the Casual Dining Room and the Private Dining Room; the kitchen and related facilities; and an outdoor patio. On the lower level are the swimming pool, whirlpool, fitness center, showers, and another outdoor patio.
Atriums are located on each floor at each end of Phase I. These are used for private parties, organized bridge groups, or to enjoy breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, rolling farm land, and the city’s skyline.
We are a community of individual homeowners who jointly share with our neighbors the ownership and maintenance of the buildings and grounds with the provision of various services. Monthly assessments cover the owner’s pro-rata share of the maintenance and upkeep of the condominium building and grounds. It also includes most utilities (heat, air-conditioning, electricity, water and sewer, trash, and cable TV), use of all facilities, use of the House car and driver, and admission to all concerts and Speaker Forums.
The traditional brick and stucco façade covers a reinforced concrete and steel building that contains 94 private condominium homes. All homes are equipped with overhead sprinklers and monitored smoke alarms. Condominium sizes vary, however most units have two bedrooms, 2 baths, some with a library a den or a dining room. All condominiums have a private parking space and a storage closet, most in the underground garage. Additional parking is available outside for second vehicles.
Residents enjoy a rich educational and cultural environment that is a hallmark of University Village. Purchasing a home at University Village requires membership in the Village Club. Fine dining is available five nights a week in the club’s dining rooms. Every aspect of life at University Village is designed to enhance and support an active, lifestyle.
